Strategies and Digital Tools for Differentiating the Language Demand of Learning Tasks

Participants will learn to implement instructional strategies for scaffolding the language demand of input and output activities in classrooms with language learners for a range of proficiency levels. Specific verbal scaffolding strategies including paraphrasing and modeling will be presented. Participants will analyze specific examples of graphic organizers adapted for multiple proficiency levels, and learn how to provide contextualized definitions during the delivery of new information using digital tools such as Lucid and Pixie.
